Hearing God Speak

I have come to love my morning walks with the Lord. It is not just a time to exercise, but to worship. The lyrics of the songs and the music cause me to walk a little quicker as my heart rejoices in the Lord. Last week I was on my last little stretch when my eyes caught sight of the most amazing spider web. It was huge and in its own way striking beauty. There in the center of it all sat a proud little spider. Assignment accomplished and now he enjoyed the rest.

I reached for my phone to capture a photo when the Lord nudged me to pause and listen. He wanted to reveal to me something far greater than just the beauty of this intricate piece of heavenly art. I stepped a little closer with phone back in pocket and heard the Lord speak.

“If I can put in that little spider the know how to create this,

do you not believe that I have put within you everything that you need to accomplish all that I have called you to?”

It was a profound question and a startling, holy moment.

Yes, God had personally spoken to me through the work of a spider.

I immediately felt faith arise within me and confidence in my God that He is able to do all things. His word began to fill my mind and cause my heart to leap.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

Now to him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Ephesians 3:20

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Romans 8:32

The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your loving kindness, O Lord is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of your Hands.

Psalm 138:8

“Lord, still our hearts to see you and hear you.

Awaken us to your voice. Speak to us and reveal to us your heart. Thank you for depositing within us everything that we need to accomplish your will.“
