Debbie Vorderlandwehr
Debbie is a present day “Barnabas” – a daughter of encouragement. (Acts 4:36) Her greatest gift is coming alongside others to prompt and cheer them to be all God created them to be. Martha Wilson experienced this God given gift when Debbie encouraged her to start Touching Hearts, a dream that God had put in Martha’s heart years prior. In the formation of THM, Debbie’s gift of administration came forth as she helped with the many details of beginning and running the ministry. She continues to bring organization and beauty through her creativity that accomplishes God’s Kingdom purposes through Touching Hearts.
After being convinced of God’s love for her, that she is “fearfully and wonderfully made,” her passion is for others to know this same truth. She recognizes God’s worth in every individual and lovingly prods them to believe this as well. Debbie has a huge heart for women to know God’s love. When she stands to express her heart to Him through interpretive sign language, women are drawn to God in worship.
After serving the ministry for many years, the Lord called Debbie away for a season to refine, refresh and renew her. She returned in 2012 full of new zeal and passion to use her gifts to help other women know him intimately. Debbie enjoys working with churches and ministries who invite THM to lead their retreats and conferences. Her administrative gifts bring order and beauty to a weekend of ministry, giving the rest of the team freedom to follow God’s lead.
Debbie has been married to Bruce since 1990 and together they enjoy creating a beautiful home for family and friends. Her boys, Josh and Chad are her pride and joy.
