“For we are sojourners before you, and tenants, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope.” 1 Chronicles 29:15 “But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:20 Our recent Touching Hearts retreat included an incredible creative component. Careful preparations were made for each table of women to have everything needed to create a unique “Sojourn Journal”. Notebooks, pretty paper, tabs, embellishments, scissors, glue, and laminate. Nothing was missing to create my very own masterpiece. What is it for, you might ask? A place to document our journey with the Lord as we sojourn throug

Morning Manna

Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. “ Exodus 16:4 I haven’t always loved mornings but now it seems to be my favorite time of day. When I crawl into bed at night, I can already smell the morning coffee and feel the longing to sit with the Lord. I remember the years that morning quiet time was simply a discipline and a ritual. I was taught early on in my Christian life the importance of a morning quiet time, but it didn’t come easy for me. Morning after morning I would set my clock, attempting to drag my tired self out of the bed, just hoping to get a verse read before the babies woke up. It

Accept, Accept, Accept

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it.” Proverbs 18:21 I am being greatly impacted by a small book entitled, “Words That Move Mountains” by E.W. Kenyon and Don Gossett. It is helping me to see, in a greater way, the power of my words. If I use words correctly, they can move mountains. If I use them wrong, they can cause destruction in my life. We underestimate the power of our words, but I am coming to know in a greater way that Satan does not underestimate a single word. He works constantly to turn our words in a negative direction. If he can get us confessing negative words, then he has access to our entire life. Our words actu

Share The Cup

The women gathered poured out their hearts in beautiful worship to our God. Not only did we sing of the Holy Spirit, but also His presence was very tangible. As we sang one of my favorite love songs to Jesus, there was one line that shocked me. I don’t think I had ever really heard it. I paused and listened as the room full of women sang it. Did we know what we were asking? The More I Seek You Kari Jobe The more I seek You The more I find You The more I find You The more I love You I want to sit at Your feet Drink from the cup in Your hand. Lay back against You and breathe, feel Your heart beat This love is so deep, it's more than I can stand. I melt in Your peace, it's overwhelming. “
