Do You Trust Omniscient God?

“Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.” Psalm 147:5 As I meditate on the attributes of God, His Omniscience continues to undo me in many ways. He knows everything; past, present and future. Not only does He know everything, but He knows everything perfectly, instantly and effortlessly. We can’t wrap our minds around this God and certainly there are no words to describe Him. You would think being reintroduced to a God who “knows everything about everything there is to know anything about”, I would never have any worries. And yet I do. I live limited in knowledge and understanding, so it is by faith that I grab hold of my God that knows everything about all cre

Shut The Gate

Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:7-10 Some may have noticed I missed a week of posting the blog. Part two of “What To Do While You are Waiting” was written and ready to send, but we pressed pause while we waited for my friend’s husband to step from earth into heaven. At times like that, blogs just don’t seem really important. A

What To Do While You Wait

I think we would all agree that waiting for a specific outcome can be grueling. But as I said on my last blog, when we shift our perspective from “the outcome to the One who holds the outcome” everything changes. What we do while we wait is important. God is working all things out. He holds everything in His hands and waiting can produce abundant fruit if we wait in the right way. We don’t wait passively, but very much engaged with God. These are a few things that help me while I wait. These are not magical one, two, three steps, but a good practice to get our eyes off of our own circumstances and to stir up our faith. 1. BELIEVE that God hears you “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lor

No Greater Gift

Someone asked me why I didn’t give a name to Andy’s illness in my last blog. He said, “Do you not want people to know?” I had to stop and think a minute. I had to try to put to words what my heart knows to be true. It’s not that I don’t want people to know, because those who are closest to us do know, but I am a very visual person. When I read something, I can see it. So, knowing that, when you read my words here on this blog, I want you to see Andy for who he is and not the three letters that he has been diagnosed with. Andy’s diagnose is a violent one and there is no cure. There is no hope in those three letters, so that’s not what I want his story to say. God has already written Andy’s s

I Love To Tell The Story

Would you join us as we walk this journey? I woke the other morning with an old church hymn on my mind. The name of the song is “I Love to Tell the Story”. So, I went straight to Apple music and found the most contemporary version and hit repeat. I know I listened to that song twenty times. As I got in my car that morning to leave for work, Bluetooth took over my car. It started playing a song that I didn’t even realize was on my phone. I looked at the words displayed on my dash and it read “Write Your Story”. I knew God was telling me “It’s time to tell and write Andy’s story”. So here I am, telling the story. If you know me at all, you know that I love to tell mine and Andy’s story. If yo
