Who? Me? Yes, You? - Week 5

“Embracing Your Identity in Christ” I Am Protected and Safe

“For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock.”

(Ps. 27:5)

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and they are safe.” (Prov. 18:10)

When evil and fear comes against me, I can run into Him and find safety, protection, refuge, deliverance, and strength. The thought of being hidden in His shelter and in the secret place of His tent brings great peace and comfort over me. Running into His name is running into his character. Running into all that He is. Our key verse says “in the day of trouble”. Yes, we do run into trouble. Our relationship with God does not insulate us from trouble. We live in a fallen world that is full of sin and evil. We have an enemy that is the prince of the air right now. So when the enemy comes against me, I run into God. No matter what comes my way. No matter what I have faced or will have to face, He is my only safety and protection. No person, power, wealth or weapon can protect me and make me strong. It is only the Lord.

I often picture myself as a little girl running into daddy’s arms. I bury my head into his chest and stay there until He strengthens me and enables me to stand and to press on. I always get into trouble when I think that I can make myself strong. Get better acquainted with your Protector. Know who He is and all that is waiting for you to run into.

Whatever you face today, run into Him. Know that He is for you and not against you. Your strength is in Him. He is everything that you need.
