What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do!

We all know what it is like to seek to know God’s will in a matter, desiring to do it His way, but having no clue what to do! You know the feeling don’t you? This is bigger than deciding which flavor of ice cream to have. Sometimes it is a crossroads, a change in life, a new season and the decision is overwhelming. Other times there seems to be no answer and no choice, yet life demands a decision. It is gut wrenching when neither choice seems to be good or right, and the only outcome we can see is disaster. We are tossed back and forth wondering what to do. It is in times like this that “we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen”. 2 Corinthians 4:18.

So what do we do, when we don’t know what to do?

God’s path for our life is not meant to be a guessing game. He longs for us to know Him personally through all of our paths in life. There is a caution that we not just seek the answers but seek God who holds all the answers. It is in the seeking that we come to know this mighty God that we call Lord, Shepherd, Savior, Friend.

Tucked away in the pages of His word, is the guidance we need in every situation. Let His words encourage you and guide you. You may not feel that you need it today, but I can promise you will need it soon.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Ps. 119:105)

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. (Proverbs 14:12)

The mind of man plans his way; But the LORD directs his steps. (Prov. 16:9)

'Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things,

which you do not know.' (Jer. 33:3)

Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. (Ps. 37:5)

This is what the LORD says-- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. (Is. 48:17)

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." Is. 30:21

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;

I will guide you with My eye.” (Psalm 32:8)

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;

I will counsel you with my eye upon you. (Psalms 32:8)

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. (Psalms 37:23-24)

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. (Prov. 3:5-6)

“Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you that You are my guide. Thank you that you do not leave me hanging to figure life out on my own. Thank you that in relationship with you, You show me the way I should go. Lord, I place my life in your hands today and I trust your loving guiding hand.”
