There Is Change In The Air

For years I have asked and received a word from God for the coming year. In the past, my word has been a scripture or even a single word denoting what’s to come—a road map of sorts. God promises His children that He will lead us where He wants us to go even when we make a wrong turn. Isaiah 30:21 tells us, “If you go the wrong way—to the right or to the left—you will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the right way. You should go this way, walk in it.” I didn’t ask for a word for 2020. Actually, I haven’t asked much of Him since March—since Andy died. I have just sat in His love and grace…waiting.

This last year has been a different year spiritually for me. It has felt much like I have wandered away from God’s words and wandered mostly in my thoughts of how life would be without Andy. I’ve had many thoughts of being alone instead of thoughts of God's promises and His assured presence. Most mornings I would rise and look into His word, but my thoughts would always take me away. My thoughts would take me to how I would live life alone. But in my wandering, I can see now how God had been with me all along. He was keeping me close to His heart and guarding mine as I have had no strength to do so.

I love God’s word and have missed its wisdom in my wandering. So, you can imagine the joy it brought me to hear His word for 2020. God’s word pushes me forward to the place where He is calling me to walk. His word pushes me away from distractions and sin that can take me to places I don’t need to go. Our mind and heart have a way of doing that and can be a dangerous thing. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

I know 2020 is going to be an amazing year. It’s going to be a year full of wonder and hope for me—a year of God’s promises fulfilled. Song of Songs 2:10-13 is my promise for this year. As I have asked you before, will you join me in throwing out a blanket of hope and wonder and let’s sit together and see God's word fulfilled. Happy New Year, my friends!

The one I love calls to Me:

“Arise, my dearest Robin. Hurry, my darling. Come away with Me! I have come as you have asked to draw you to My heart and lead you out. For now is the time, my beautiful one. The season has changed, the bondage of your barren winter has ended, and the season of hiding is over and gone. The rains have soaked the earth and left it bright with blossoming flowers. The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived. I hear the cooing of doves in our land, filling the air with songs to awaken you and guide you forth. Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air, Robin.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me. Song of Songs 2:10-13 (TPT)
